At The Heart Of It All: Nexus Station

You’re going to need something familiar. Something they can understand. Humans interact with reality in a very concrete way or they get disturbed. They will reject what’s right in front of them if it doesn’t fit their frame of reference. The needs of the civilization should be visible at all times in a clear, distinct way. As far as manifesting matter – they will want to see it fabricated, even if it is they, themselves, who are bringing it into existence.
During our latest Warped Talk Q+A, lead game developer and Warped Games President Scott Brown took us on a tour of the immense social hub and heart of the Warped Universe, Nexus Station.
Acting as the beating heart of this new civilization tasked with building the Warped Universe, the Nexus Station will provide a space where players can gather, strategize, and take a breath from the destructive forces of the Void.
The Nexus is where players will customize their Echo, receive and upgrade equipment, and choose their missions before departing.
While many areas of the Nexus are still under development, what we now have is almost everything required to experience Warped Universe in it's earliest iteration.
Upon exiting the portal, the first thing a player will experience is the complex simplicity of the interactive System Map. A real time representation of the current state of the Seasonal System, a hex grid map revealing the current areas available to explore a vast pylon system, retrieve vital Residuum necessary to build new planets and facilities, and seal void tears before they can rip the sector to shreds, and more.

Underneath the System Map you’ll see the Planet Printhead, a matter fabrication engine of unimaginable power that takes Residuum collected on missions and transmutes it using the warped particle to create planets to expand the Universe.

Upon completing missions you’ll receive rewards of your choosing, it may be an Artifractal Core used to receive new equipment, Sparks to upgrade equipment, Nexite which serves as the in-game currency needed to facilitate equipment purchases and upgrades, and/or experience to expedite Battlepass progress. Players will utilize these rewards at various construction tables around the Nexus.
We'll go into more detail on the functions of these in a future update.

Exclusive Battlepass cosmetics will have their own display area within the Nexus where you can see the graphically stunning gear available to those with the gall to grind it out.

And once you’ve fitted yourself with your upgraded equipment, and unlocked some cosmetics, you’ll want to customize your appearance to your liking. Visual Customization stations are located around the Nexus so you’ll never have to travel too far to change things up.
