Monthly Development Update August 2025

9 Sept 20255 min read

This month has been one of the biggest yet for Warped Universe. At gamescom, over 700 missions were played by visitors on the show floor, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. It was a huge milestone for us, not just in visibility, but in validating our vision of building a game that feels fresh, accessible, and truly original. Sharing the game alongside SuiPlay, Super B, Xociety, and others at the Team Liquid booth gave us the chance to see players experience Warped Universe firsthand, and the feedback has already helped guide what we’re building next.

On the development side, the Nexus Station has taken a big step forward, with newly designed faction areas, symbols, leaders, and NPCs breathing life into the hub. Missions continue to evolve across both real-time space and turn-based ground. Turn-based combat has grown in amazing ways with new mechanics like Overwatch, hidden AI behavior, weapon-specific interactions, and reworked maps making fights feel more tactical from the very first encounter.

Our UI has also gone through a major overhaul, from the mission map to loadouts, health and stamina bars, Light/Gravity balance displays, and even spaceflight specific elements like thrust and targeting. Music and sound have been polished into a more dynamic mix, while the atmosphere of facilities and environments continues to expand through new effects and ambient design. And of course, plenty of bugs have been squashed along the way (including one infamous “naked scientist”).

With Steam Next Fest (Oct 13–20) fast approaching, preparations for Closed Beta underway, and a packed calendar of events including Korea Blockchain Week and Ready.Sui.Play, we’re entering the next phase of Warped Universe with more momentum than ever.

Let’s dive into everything we’ve been working on.
